Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of tooled.dev. By using the service you agree to them. We’ve tried to write them as plainly as the law allows. If something is unclear, email legal@tooled.dev.

1. The service

tooled.dev (the “Service”) is a collection of AI-augmented developer utilities operated by Keller Concepts. Free-tier features are usable without an account; Pro features require a paid subscription.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country) to create an account. You must use the Service in compliance with all applicable laws, including export-control and sanctions law.

3. Acceptable use

You will not:

  • Use the Service to generate content that violates the law in your jurisdiction or ours.
  • Attempt to bypass rate limits or scrape the Service at scale outside of your purchased plan.
  • Resell raw access to the Service’s AI features as a standalone offering.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any closed-source component.
  • Submit content you don’t have the right to submit (e.g. someone else’s confidential code).
  • Use the Service to harass, defame, dox, or harm any person.
  • Probe, scan, or attack the Service’s infrastructure outside of our vulnerability disclosure policy.

We may suspend or terminate access without notice if we reasonably believe you are violating these terms. We will tell you why, except where law forbids us to.

4. Rate limits

  • Anonymous users: 5 AI calls per 24 hours per IP address.
  • Free signed-in users: 20 AI calls per 24 hours per account.
  • Pro users: unlimited within fair-use (currently defined as no more than 10 AI calls per minute sustained over 10 minutes).

Limits are subject to change with notice. We will publish material changes on the changelog.

5. Pro subscriptions

5.1 Pricing

  • Pro Monthly: $15/month, billed monthly until cancelled.
  • Pro Annual: $99/year, billed yearly until cancelled (a 45% discount vs monthly).
  • Lifetime: $249 one-time, limited to the first 100 buyers, no recurring charge.

5.2 Cancellation

You can cancel a recurring subscription at any time from your account page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain Pro features until then.

5.3 Refunds

  • Monthly: non-refundable. Simply cancel before the next charge.
  • Annual:full refund within 14 days of purchase if you’ve made fewer than 100 AI calls. After 14 days or 100 calls, non-refundable; cancel anytime to stop renewal.
  • Lifetime:full refund within 30 days of purchase if you’ve made fewer than 200 AI calls. After that, non-refundable.

To request a refund within the eligible window, email hello@tooled.dev. Refunds are issued to the original payment method within 5–10 business days.

5.4 Price changes

We may change prices for new subscriptions at any time. Existing subscribers keep their current price for the duration of their current billing term and at least one renewal cycle thereafter. Lifetime owners are never re-billed.

6. AI-generated content

The Service uses third-party large language models (Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude) to generate regex patterns, explanations, code, and similar output. You acknowledge that:

  • AI output is not guaranteed correct. You are responsible for reviewing, testing, and validating any AI-generated content before relying on it.
  • Identical prompts may produce different output on different runs.
  • Generated patterns may have edge cases or security implications (e.g. ReDoS) we flag but do not eliminate.
  • You retain ownership of your inputs. To the extent ownership of AI output can be claimed, you own the output we return to you, subject to the terms of the upstream model provider.

Do not paste passwords, API keys, personal identifiers, or other secrets into our tools. Even though we don’t store inputs, they leave our infrastructure to reach the model provider for processing.

7. Your content

You retain all rights to content you submit. By submitting content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to process it solely for the purpose of operating the Service — that includes routing it to the upstream LLM provider, running it through our regex engine, and (if you save it as a Pro user) storing it in our database. This license terminates when you delete the content or your account.

8. Open source

The regex engine, ReDoS analyzer, code exporter, and pattern library are released under the MIT license at github.com/stonesalltheway1. The hosted application (this site, billing, account UI, Pro features) is proprietary and not licensed for redistribution.

9. Intellectual property

“tooled”, the tooled logo, the tooled.dev domain, and all original site content are property of Keller Concepts. You may not use any of the above in a way that suggests endorsement, sponsorship, or affiliation without written permission.

You may freely write about tooled.dev, link to it, embed permalinks to tools, and screenshot the UI for documentation and reviews.

10. Warranty disclaimer

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, that AI output will be accurate, or that the Service will be free of bugs or vulnerabilities. You use the Service at your own risk.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, KELLER CONCEPTS AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR USE, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THIS SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR USD $100, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

Some jurisdictions don’t allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain damages. In those jurisdictions, the above limitations apply to the maximum extent permitted by law.

12. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold Keller Concepts harmless from any claim arising out of your violation of these terms, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of any third party’s rights.

13. Termination

You may terminate at any time by deleting your account. We may terminate or suspend access at any time for any breach of these terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive (intellectual property, disclaimer, liability, indemnification, dispute resolution) do.

14. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Kansas, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Kansas, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.

If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protections, those protections still apply.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes take effect 30 days after we post the updated version and notify signed-in users by email. Your continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
